The Utah MBDA Business Center is operated by The Mill Entrepreneurship Center of Salt Lake Community College. The center is strategically focused on providing workspaces, education and resource partners for Utah’s small businesses.

To maximize value, the Center will be supported through partnerships with local diverse chambers of commerce, business organizations, state and local government entities as well as other local partners who will provide training and event and consulting services.

  • Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

    Expert business advisors have many years’ experience starting, operating, growing businesses, and consulting to small business owners.

    The SBDC assists small business owners in many industries, at every stage of development, helping with nearly any issue. From idea validation to launching your business, from growing your company to succession planning, the SBDC has the expertise, experience, tools, and contacts to provide valuable support to help you make your business successful and sustainable.

  • Global Business Center

    The Executive Certificate of Global Business Management is offered to business executives, professionals, working staff, entrepreneurs, and qualified students who wish to increase their knowledge and improve their strategies in global business practices.

    The course is also valuable for global entrepreneurs, individuals who are new to international trade and have no prior international business experience, and professionals from service industries such as banking, transportation, and trade consultants.

  • Veteran Business Resource Center (VBRC)

    The mission of the VRBC is to counsel, advise, mentor, and support Utah veterans, active duty, reserve, guard, and spouses as they start and build their businesses.

    As part of its support to veteran owned businesses, the VRBC is partnered with the UDVMA to create the Utah Veteran Business Registry where business owners can identify their entities as veteran-owned (veteran status is confirmed through the UDVMA).

  • Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business

    Gain practical skills across topics such as financial statements negotiation, marketing, and employee management, and gain the tools to develop a customized business plan for growth—for free.

    Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses at Salt Lake Community College is a program to help small businesses grow and create jobs by providing them with greater access to education, capital, and business support services. To date, more than 700 business owners have graduated from the program in Utah with more than 10,000 graduates across the United States.

  • Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (NWMMSDC)

    The Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Council (Northwest Mountain MSDC) is a nonprofit organization certifying, developing, and connecting Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) with major corporations and public agencies. The NWMMSDC is an affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) providing certification, membership and subscription services to the Pacific Northwest Mountain region which includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

  • Apex Accelerator

    Mission: APEX Accelerator brings businesses into the government industrial base.

    Purpose:

    Assist businesses in pursuing and securing government contracts.

    Facilitate the transfer of innovative technology to the defense industrial base.

    Provide access to networks, resources, and potential partners.

    Conduct training sessions and workshops to improve government contracting skills.

  • International Rescue Committee (IRC)

    The International Rescue Committee provides opportunities for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture, and other immigrants to thrive in America. Each year, thousands of people, forced to flee violence and persecution, are welcomed by the people of the United States into the safety and freedom of America. These individuals have survived against incredible odds. The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors, and local volunteers to help them translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to their new communities. In Salt Lake City and other offices across the country, the IRC helps them to rebuild their lives. Since opening its doors in 1994, the IRC in Salt Lake City has resettled over 13,000 refugees and provided life-changing services to thousands more in the Beehive State.

    A private, non-profit organization founded in 1987, the Economic Development Corporation of Utah (EDCUtah) catalyzes capital investment and strategic economic opportunities to create quality jobs in Utah.

    For nearly 40 years, EDCUtah has provided businesses with the resources they need to relocate or expand their business operations in Utah. It specializes in corporate recruitment, economic research, community strategy, and site selector marketing. EDCUtah is Utah’s only statewide economic development organization supported by both public and private sector organizations.

    An award-winning multidisciplinary team based all across Utah, with chapters in Salt Lake City, Utah County, Northern Utah, and Southern Utah.

    Its passion for entrepreneurship drives them to create engaging partnerships that improve the lives of black professionals and business leaders across the state.

    It works with businesses and people to create a more equitable Utah.

  • Utah Pacific Island Chamber

    UPIC’s mission is to unite and uplift its community, prioritizing the common good over personal gain. It strives to bridge gaps, overcome obstacles, offer solutions, promote local businesses, empower education, and foster civic participation. UPIC firmly believes in the power of collaboration, extending support, and embracing the LIFT approach: Learn, Invest, Forecast, and Train.

  • Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

    Since its creation in 1991, the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been the benchmark for Hispanic Businesses in Utah and, at the same time, helped many of them make their dreams come true, guiding them in the creation, development, and promotion of their businesses.

    The UHCC is a resource for all Hispanic businesses in Utah where they can go to solve their doubts, concerns, and barriers so that they can grow their business.

  • Pacific Island Chamber of Commerce of Utah

    The Pacific Island Chamber of Commerce, or PICC, is comprised of socially responsible and socially conscious individuals and organizations who, while business-oriented, hold the belief that people and profits are of equal importance. It specializes in helping Pacific Islander Businesses grow and thrive within the community.

    PICC serves as an education and resource hub for business owners and entrepreneurs of all levels, creating prosperous collaborations with an emphasis on under-served and ethnic communities. PICC offers mentorship opportunities and monthly meetups to network and educate.

    PICC has chapters in Salt Lake County and Utah County. It is creating a more harmonious business network where mutual support and connection is prioritized to better help its Pasifika community in and around these areas, along with our other underserved peers.
